Gaming Geeks Get Game on With Quadzilla!

No, I'm not talking about some new Japanese movie that is high on the cheese factor but a machine that is about to become a cult classic of another kind. This is the new bare bones kit put out by TigerDirect that is sure to make any true gaming geek or geekette for that matter, weak in the knees.

What you have with this kit is an almost perfect start for a state of the art gaming computer that very well may be at the cutting edge of current technology and a force to be reckoned with for an impressive amount of time in light of the rate at which technology is evolving.

You can learn more about it by clicking on the image below. I highly recommend checking it out. They say it so much better than I could but I'll give it the old 'college try.'

4 (count them 4) terabytes of hard drive space, 4 Gigs of DDR2 Memory, and a quad core CPU. This is a bare bones kit so it may be missing a little bit of the polish that novices to gaming and computer construction are interested in. However, at the core of every die hard gamer geek lies the soul of a box builder and modder waiting to go free. This is the opportunity you've been waiting for. If your current PC is on its last leg for gaming performance, this is your chance to get ahead of the game and build a dream box for gaming.

In other words, it's a great start for a kickin' gaming system. See why Quadzilla icon is the right choice for your gaming PC needs.

This is not for the faint hearted or those who only need a computer for a few word processing functions or to "surf the 'net" this is for serious gamers who demand optimal performance. Are you ready to ride the wave and have the best box on the block?

Video Games Good for You?

This was simply too good not to share. I know it's been a while but hopefully this will make up for my prolonged absence--at least a little bit. Every geek needs an excuse for gaming once in a while. I bet this is one you haven't thought of before.

Sci Fi Channel Going Drama Light?

If you've been following this blog for any length of time you're probably well aware that this geekette is seriously devoted to science fiction books, film, and television. the SciFi Channel is the most often watched on my television with the possible exception of a few choice news network and perhaps G4.

That being said, I'm beginning to feel the first twinges of apprehension about the direction that this favorite of channels seems to be taking for future seasons. Favorite shows have been canceled and not replaced in the past and current favorites such as Stargate Atlantis - The Complete Fourth Season
and Battlestar Galactica - Season 4.0
will not continue beyond this season.

While they are removing these excellent dramas from the air they are bringing new reality TV type shows in by the droves. I understand that there are many people who love reality TV and that this is a HUGE market. My problem is that the SciFi Channel seems to be leaving their loyal and faithful market of years behind in search of the bright shiny shows that are designed to bring in 'new blood' that may not really be genre specific.

Granted, the long awaited prequel to Battlestar Galactica (2003 Miniseries)
, Caprica is in the works and may be a decent replacement for this favorite in my family and Stargate Universe is on the horizon. It just seems so far away for those of us who fear growing fat on nothing other than reality shows and reruns in the meantime. Am I the only one lamenting what seems to be the loss of the last true sci-fi stronghold on television?

Have You Heard About Squidoo?

What's your passion? Everyone has one. Most geeks and geekettes I know have a few. Whether you are passionate about gaming, a specific game, modding computers, a book series, comic book, movie (Star Wars anyone?), or a character in a movie (have I mentioned my lifelong crush on Han Solo?), there is a lens to be made about it. More importantly you can make money from your passion by creating the best of the best of lenses celebrating that passion.

A Squidoo lens can be made for many reasons. Some are made to entertain, inform, educate, excite, entice, persuade, and even to rant about the current state of things. There are so many options that it would be nearly impossible for anyone not to have something to create a lens about.

If, for some reason, you don't need money or have too much as it is(please email me if this is the case, I will be glad to lighten your heavy burden), you can donate the proceeds from your lens to a favorite charity. How cool is that?

I bet you're wondering how much something like this is going to cost, right? Absolutely nothing. It's free. Geeks like free to whether we care to admit or not. It's really nothing to be ashamed of. Gone are the days when you needed to have money in order to make money. There is a lot of work that goes into creating a lens that is worthy of riches and it may take more than a little bit of time and effort but it won't cost you any hard earned cash. If you choose a topic that you are truly passionate about, you can consider it a labor of love--only this one doesn't ask for a ridiculous amount of alimony.

What are you waiting for? Get out there and get started on a Squidoo lens of your very own today. If you need a little inspiration feel free to take a look at a few of mine to help you get started.
